Rhinoplasty for a Low Bridge and Bulbous Tip

A case study of a 20s female patient who underwent rhinoplasty to correct a low bridge and wide tip after unsatisfactory filler and Hiko thread results.

Rhinoplasty for a Low Bridge and Bulbous Tip

* Basic Information

# Female in her 20s

# Received filler and Hiko thread procedures 4-5 months ago, but is unhappy with the shape!

# Wants to address the low nasal bridge and the tip that appears wide and spread out.

* Consultation

# The plan was to dissolve the filler and remove the foreign materials (Hiko threads).

# Although the nose itself was low and the septal cartilage was small, the patient did not want to use other materials like donated rib cartilage. We established the surgical plan to reflect her preference for raising the tip using only autologous cartilage as much as possible.

# She desired a ‘straight-semi-curved’ (Jik-ban) tip that extends clearly without showing too much of the nostrils!

* Plan

# Dissolve filler and remove foreign materials

# Bridge augmentation (Silicone implant)

# Tip surgery (Autologous cartilage, correction of the bulbous tip)

* Post-operative Progress

1. In the post-operative results, a natural yet sharp straight-semi-curved tip was achieved without excessive nostril exposure, just as requested.

2. The bridge was raised smoothly, drawing focus to the center of the face. This added three-dimensional depth to a previously flat-looking face, creating a slimming effect that the patient was very satisfied with.

3. By raising the tip, the alae (nostril wings) that appeared spread out were also narrowed, resulting in a significant improvement in the frontal profile.
