Subbrow Lift and Lower Blepharoplasty
Case study of a woman in her 50s undergoing subbrow lift and lower blepharoplasty to correct sagging eyelids and under-eye bags for a rejuvenated look.

* Basic Information
# Female in her 50s
# Medical History: Previous double eyelid surgery
# Current Condition
- Habit of lifting eyebrows due to sagging skin on the upper eyelids
- Tired appearance caused by bulging fat under the eyes
* Consultation
# The patient visited the clinic planning for surgery due to significant sagging of the upper eyelid skin and bulging/wrinkles under the eyes.
# Caution is required if performing ‘Upper Blepharoplasty only’ (removing sagging skin while creating a double eyelid), as it can make the upper eyelid puffiness more prominent and result in a tacky or harsh-looking double eyelid.
# We decided to address the sagging skin by lifting it from beneath the eyebrow.
# For the under-eye area, it is important to reposition the bulging fat pockets and perform orbicularis oculi muscle suspension to prevent ectropion and ensure long-lasting results.
* Surgical Plan
# Subbrow Lift
# Lower Blepharoplasty

* Post-operative Progress
# We aimed to resolve the sagging as much as possible through the subbrow lift. After lifting the sagging skin, the previously hidden double eyelid line has been revealed!
# When performing a subbrow lift, it is crucial not just to excise the skin but to perform periosteal fixation to prevent re-sagging and ensure the effects last a long time.
# In the case of lower blepharoplasty, the orbicularis oculi muscle suspension must be performed securely to prevent complications like ectropion or easy recurrence.
# We also did not forget to create a natural ‘aegyo-sal’ (love band) during the lower blepharoplasty. If the under-eye area is too flat, it can actually make one look older.
Consultation and surgery should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!
