Facial Liposuction Using LipoSound - Dr. Young Moon Yoo, Representative Director of VIBE Plastic Surgery
A case study of a patient in her 20s who achieved a defined jawline using LipoSound ultrasound liposuction, Shurink, and Botox.

* Basic Information
# Female in her 20s
# Stubborn double chin fat that persists despite consistent dieting
* Consultation
# By using ultrasound, we can break down subcutaneous fat into fine particles. (Think of it as turning ‘orange pulp’ into ‘orange juice’.) This allows the fat to be extracted almost as easily as squeezing out liquid, and it can be removed very effectively using only a small cannula.

* Plan
# LipoSound Ultrasound Liposuction (Double Chin & Jawline)
# Shurink (HIFU Lifting)
# Masseter Botox (Square Jaw Botox)

The Principles of LipoSound
# You can think of ‘LipoSound’ as a device that uses ultrasound to emulsify fat. Because it liquefies fat particles—which are normally like orange pulp—into a juice-like consistency:
1. It is much smoother – fat can be squeezed out like water without applying significant force, and it can be suctioned through a very small cannula. Consequently, there is much less irritation, leading to faster recovery from bruising and swelling. This also results in significantly less ‘bio-bond’ (post-operative adhesions).
2. Since the ultrasound is emitted directly beneath the dermis, there is less skin sagging after the procedure, and you can achieve additional skin elasticity and tightening effects.
# About two weeks after surgery, you may experience some discomfort as bio-bonds begin to form. During this time, applying warm compresses and stretching will help them resolve faster. Please note that we also provide injections to help soften these bonds during your one-month follow-up appointment!
Consultations and surgeries should always be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is LipoSound liposuction?
LipoSound is a device that uses ultrasound to liquefy fat. It is a procedure that helps to effectively aspirate fat particles, which are like orange granules, by making them smooth like juice, even with a small cannula.
What are the advantages of LipoSound liposuction?
LipoSound gently removes liquefied fat, so there is less irritation during the procedure, leading to faster recovery from bruising and swelling. Additionally, it causes less biobond formation, and the ultrasound works beneath the dermis to reduce skin sagging and improve elasticity.
How long is the recovery period after LipoSound treatment?
It is stated that recovery from bruising and swelling after the procedure is fast. A specific period is not mentioned, but it is noted that biobond can form about two weeks after the surgery.
How do I manage biobond after surgery?
When biobond causes discomfort, warm compresses and stretching can help. Additionally, about a month after the procedure, the hospital may administer injections to help release the biobond.
Which areas can be improved with LipoSound treatment?
LipoSound ultrasonic liposuction can primarily be used to effectively remove fat from the double chin and jawline, thereby improving facial contours.
