Rhinoplasty for a Low and Bulbous Nose
A case study of a 20-year-old female who achieved a refined, sophisticated look through bridge augmentation and bulbous nose correction using septal cartilage.

* Basic Information
# Female in her 20s
# Low and bulbous nose
* Consultation
# The patient desired improvement because her nasal bridge was low and the tip of her nose appeared blunt and wide.
# Pre-operative CT scans showed that the septal cartilage was straight and sufficient in size. Therefore, we decided to elevate the nasal tip using a septal extension graft and raise the bridge using a silicone implant.
# Since elevating the nasal tip alone would sufficiently improve the appearance of the wide alae, we decided not to perform an alar reduction.
* Surgical Plan
# Bridge Rhinoplasty (Silicone implant, Osteotomy)
# Tip Rhinoplasty (Bulbous nose correction, Septal extension graft)

* Post-operative Progress
# There are several types of bulbous noses: 1. Thick skin, 2. Thick soft tissue (subcutaneous fat, etc.), 3. Splayed and wide cartilage. Naturally, these factors often occur in combination, so it is best to correct each factor appropriately. We sculpted the skin and soft tissue to be thinner and refined the cartilage to create a sleek shape.
# We achieved the ideal nasal tip angle using septal cartilage and ear cartilage.
# With the bulbous nose corrected, her overall impression has transformed into a much more sophisticated look!
