Achieving a Sophisticated Straight-Semi-Curved Line by Correcting a Low Bridge & Bulbous Tip! by Dr. Young-moon Yoo of Vibe Plastic Surgery
A case study of a 20-something female patient who achieved a natural, sophisticated nose profile through bridge augmentation and bulbous tip correction.

Hello.
I am Dr. Young-moon Yoo, Director of Vibe Plastic Surgery.
The case I am introducing today is a rhinoplasty for a female patient in her 20s.
This patient presented with a combination of:
A low nasal bridge
A bulbous tip that appeared wide
An insufficient nasolabial angle
These three factors combined to give the nose an overall rounded and somewhat stifled appearance.
Therefore, this was a case where tip surgery—correcting the shape of the nasal tip and the nasolabial angle—was just as crucial as simply raising the bridge.
* Pre-operative Characteristics
The characteristics of the nose before surgery can be summarized as follows:
✔ The low bridge made the center of the face look weak
✔ A bulbous tip shape that appeared wide and rounded
✔ An insufficient nasolabial angle that made the tip look slightly droopy
In such cases, a rhinoplasty that designs both the bridge and the tip simultaneously is required.
* Surgical Method
1️⃣ Nasal Bridge: Use of Silicone Implant
The bridge was naturally elevated using a silicone implant.
Since the bridge was not extremely low, we designed it at a height that harmonizes with the face rather than raising it excessively.
The advantages of silicone implants are:
Formation of a stable bridge line
Creation of a smooth straight line
Natural improvement of the nasal contour
2️⃣ Nasal Tip: Use of Autologous Cartilage
Tip surgery was performed using septal cartilage and ear cartilage.
The septal cartilage serves to strengthen the support of the tip, while the ear cartilage is used to naturally refine the shape of the tip.
Through this method, we simultaneously addressed:
✔ Correction of the wide, bulbous tip
✔ Formation of a sophisticated tip shape
✔ Correction of the insufficient nasolabial angle

* Completion of a Natural ‘Jik-ban’ (Straight-Semi-Curved) Line
After the surgery:
The low bridge was naturally refined,
The wide tip became slim,
And as the tip angle improved,
An overall natural straight-semi-curved line was achieved.
The goal of this surgery was not an excessively flashy nose, but a sophisticated and natural nasal line that harmonizes with the face.
* Key Points in Correcting a Low Bridge and Bulbous Tip
When a low bridge and a bulbous tip coexist, simply raising the bridge can actually make the tip look even wider. Therefore, the following elements must be considered together:
✔ Bridge height
✔ Tip shape
✔ Nasolabial angle
✔ Overall facial proportions
Designing these elements together is the only way to create a natural and balanced rhinoplasty result.
* Rhinoplasty at Vibe Plastic Surgery
At Vibe Plastic Surgery, we perform rhinoplasty to create a natural nasal line by comprehensively analyzing:
Individual nasal structure
Facial proportions
Skin thickness
Condition of the tip cartilage
I hope this case is helpful to those who are concerned about a low bridge or a bulbous tip.
Thank you.
