Correction of Deviated and Hump Nose
A case study of a male patient in his 30s who underwent correction for a deviated nose and dorsal hump to achieve a straighter, more masculine profile.

* Basic Information
- Male in his 30s
- Dorsal hump and deviated nose
* Consultation
1. The patient’s primary stressors were a blunt impression caused by the dorsal hump and a visibly crooked nose.
2. The plan was to raise the nasal bridge while creating a straighter, more masculine nasal line that extends smoothly.
* Surgical Plan
1. Rhinoplasty (Bridge)
- Hump reduction
- Deviated nose correction (Osteotomy followed by spreader graft)
2. Tip Plasty
- Septal extension graft
- Onlay graft

* Post-operative Progress
1. Deviated nose surgery is a high-difficulty procedure, but it typically yields high patient satisfaction. This is because it resolves the crooked line seen from the front and establishes a straight central axis.
2. While it varies depending on the degree of deviation, cases with severe deviation like this one require medial and lateral osteotomy. Through these osteotomies, the crooked sections are corrected, and a spreader graft is used in between to refine the line into a straight shape.
3. By smoothing the hump and creating a masculine, straight line, the overall impression appears much cleaner and more refined.
4. By narrowing the wide bridge through osteotomy and increasing its height, the focus of the face is drawn to the center. This adds three-dimensional depth to a previously flat-looking face, creating an effect where the face appears smaller, which the patient found very satisfying.
Consultations and surgeries should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!
