Q. What is the difference between using threads and Endotine for a forehead lift?
Dr. Young Moon Yoo explains the pros and cons of using threads versus Endotine for forehead lift fixation, highlighting differences in tension and recovery.

Hello!
I have prepared a brief explanation regarding a topic many of you might be curious about. ^^
Q) What is the difference between using threads and Endotine for a forehead lift?
A) Hello, this is Dr. Young Moon Yoo, Representative Director of Vibe Plastic Surgery, with your 1-minute plastic surgery insights.
Today’s question is: ‘Is there a difference between using threads and Endotine during a forehead lift?’
The method chosen can vary depending on the surgeon. It is not a matter of one being inherently better or worse than the other, but rather a matter of preference and clinical choice.
First, the biggest advantage of using threads is that there is less of a foreign body sensation. On the other hand, the fixation strength is somewhat weaker, and because the tension is concentrated on a narrow area, there is a slightly higher risk of localized hair loss, which is a disadvantage.
In contrast, Endotine provides fixation over a wider surface area, which disperses the tension and reduces the risk of hair loss while offering superior fixation strength. While the foreign body sensation can be felt initially, it is absorbed over time, so it is not significantly uncomfortable. The higher cost could be seen as a drawback, but there is usually a reason for a higher price tag, right? Personally, I consider it an excellent material and primarily use Endotine.
